In 1965, then 17-year-old local photographer Bill Carlson documented the Beatles’ only appearance in Minnesota. The Minnesota Historical Society is presenting the first major exhibit of these images, kicking off Tuesday night with a massive party that included an opportunity to pose within a large Sgt. Pepper album cover, a Beatles: Rock Band video game contest, a Beatles-themed costume competition and a well attended performance of Beatles classics by local rockers RetroFit.
