Sparks, a charming bistro in the Bryn Mawr area, is such a comfortable place that it is already poised to become a beloved neighborhood eatery. The eclectic, loosely Mediterranean menu is uniquely centered around a single piece of cooking equipment: the wood-burning oven. While you might think that means pizza (and it does, including an elegant truffled asparagus version), it would be a shame to miss out on the dishes Sparks does better: the simple roasted meats, including surprisingly good mussels, Amish chicken, and small plates such as Korean-style tacos with kimchi.
