Silent protest against Nazi-themed dinner at Gasthof's

On a chilly March day, a group of several dozen people gathered outside of Gasthof's in Northeast in a silent rally against the restaurant's Nazi-themed dinner party. The protesters carried suitcases and wore the Star of David, pink triangles, and black triangles to represent victims of the Holocaust. PHOTOS BY NICK KOZEL on March 26, 2014

This is my favorite authentic German dinning establishment!  I am a World War Two Re-enactor For the German, and American side.  Often we recreate the battles as they were remember during the war, many of our uniforms are from the war.  At our winter solstice party we talk about all our experiences the fun we had during the year learning and taking part in living history events.  It is not a Nazi propaganda party against any race or religion. It is simply to take part in the Living History events, historical societies, WWII history museum events.  Its is the same way with the Civil War re-enactors, we have a passion for Living history that not everyone may understand but should be understood.  This Establishment is full of excitement and German culture!  No wonder it appeases the German WWII Re-enactment group.  It is sad that the Protestors do not actually understand what goes on, maybe they should make a club too.@bryanmwall

What a great way to peacefully protest!  I am saddened by Gasthof's owners reaction to this whole issue.  I will not be a patron of his establishment again.

@beach_boy_0016 @bryanmwall  You obviously don't get the point.  It's "sad" that you don't understand what goes on- and silly boy, there is a "club."  It's a club you would never want to belong to- go to the National Holocaust Museum and check it out. It's called Shoah- look it up.  You are either glaring naive or don't understand cruelty- at all.

@beach_boy_0016 I Agree but the protesters just make your re-enactment more realistic as they were part of the war.
