Critics looking for a "real" Jewish deli were not kind to Rye Delicatessen when it first opened its doors. But forget the naysayers. The deli, while not flawless, has overcome its early missteps and is now serving simple, homespun, made-from-scratch food that hits a lot of right notes. The Reuben, hot turkey sandwich, and decadent challah French toast are among its best dishes. PHOTOS BY B FRESH PHOTOGRAPHY.
