Rincon 38: The Tour

1 of 22

The ridiculously talented Hector Ruiz, owner of the cozy new Rincón 38 in Kingfield, is adding luxury and flair to tapas, the traditional Spanish small plates. His dishes are fabulous, accessible, and completely affordable, especially considering their complexity. Ruiz’s seafood dishes are his best, such as piquillos de atun – sweet Spanish peppers stuffed with tuna on top of a baguette. We loved the oven-roasted sea bass on four-cheese polenta, the scallops, and the pulpo (octopus with chorizo) plate, which might be the best thing on the menu. Beef pinchos and pork tenderloin were good, and the savory mushroom flan with quail’s eggs was a best bet for vegetarians. PHOTOS BY BENJAMIN CARTER GRIMES.
