The charming and impressively authentic Lynden's Soda Fountain is a bubbly new hangout in the former home of Kopplin's Coffee in St. Paul. The shop is a meticulous throwback, with vintage, refurbished soda fountain equipment and a smooth, white marble countertop with several built-in stools. The shop serves all the fountain classics--handcrafted floats, malts and milkshakes, phosphates, and egg creams--plus ice cream and old-fashioned candies like Necco Wafers, Cracker Jacks, Slo Pokes, and Abba-Zabas. John Lynden and his wife, Tobi, take pride in re-creating the soda fountains of yesteryear, with the same syrups and acid phosphates once used in classic New York soda fountains and super premium ice creams from the Chocolate Shoppe in Madison, Wisconsin.
