Ladies in lettuce bikinis brave subzero temps for PETA

1 of 11

PETA staff and volunteers handed out vegan hot chocolate and information about animal-friendly lifestyles in downtown Minneapolis. The women wore nothing but lettuce leaf bikinis and warm boots, and passersby were surprised and amused at the self-proclaimed "Sexy Lettuce Ladies" of PETA outside in the -2 degree weather. Lindsay Rajt of PETA and volunteers spoke with people about the health benefits of veganism and about respect for animals. PHOTOS BY NICHOLAS KOZEL on January 2, 2013

C'mon Givenchy, do your homework. The PETA animal hospice (not truly a shelter) is where people bring their animals to die. They're animals that no other shelter will take in. They do their best, but I'm sure 89% of these animals are on death's door when brought there. What have you done for an animal lately?

Is this the same PETA that slaughtered 89% of the animals it claimed to have "rescued" in 2012?  According to the Virginia Dept. Of Agriculture they took in 1,847 animals and slaughtered 1,647 of them. (Excluding the ones PETA took in for spay/neuter purposes. I guess they were the lucky ones.)
