More than 150 people turned out Friday to honor the life of Krissy Bates, a transgender woman police say was killed in Minneapolis by her boyfriend. Activists and politicians—including Monica Meyer of OutFront and Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis&mdashspoke, and the group marched to Bates's downtown apartment with flowers and candles. "You were a great friend," said Scottie Thornton, Bates's closest friend in town. "I miss you, girl." PHOTOS BY DENIS JEONG PLASTER 1/21/11
