To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Saffron Restaurant and Lounge gave its digs and menu a makeover. The result is Mediterranean fare--influenced by southern Europe, north Africa, and the Middle East--that's more snackable (fresh chickpeas) and sharable (whole fish, tagines) served in an environment that's slightly more casual, but still very classy. Beer and brewers from across the country came together Saturday for the 11th
annual Autumn Brew Review at the historic Grain Belt Brewery complex
in Northeast Minneapolis. Over 100 breweries participated in the
event sponsored by the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild which featured
Chicago punk rockers Rise Against opened for the Foo Fighters at the
Xcel Center on Wednesday night. Foo Fighters required our photographer
to sign an unacceptable photo contract and were not photographed.
