With Honey and Rye, co-owners Anne Andrus and Emily Ackerman have created something that’s at once chic and cozy, a Midwestern rustic kitchen where the front of house employees wear clogs and flowered aprons, but the baguettes and croissants are up to snuff with any you’d find in Paris. Bread is still the central focus of Honey & Rye, but the menu also meets the sweeter and heartier tastes of their regular customers, including items like simple baguette sandwiches layered with ham and cheese and from-scratch chicken noodle soup with gorgeously golden, subtly seasoned broth and thick, homemade egg noodles.
