George and the Dragon: The Tour

1 of 19

George and the Dragon, a new family-friendly pub in south Minneapolis, may not be the stuff of legends, but it serves a satisfying meal. The menu is a predictable but palatable mix of traditional English favorites and family recipes from owner and industry vet Fred Navarro. The beer selection is balanced between local brews (Fulton, Harriet, Summit, and Lift Bridge) and English imports. Kids can order a classic burger, mac and cheese, and fish and chips. For adults, there's bangers and mash, toasties (grilled sandwiches), salmon salad, and Asian-influenced dishes like a banh mi sandwich, a daily curry, and something called the Asian Hangover: Compart pork with snappy garlic green beans and an over-easy fried egg on rice.
