Butcher and the Boar: The tour

1 of 24

The local food world eagerly awaited the opening of Butcher and the Boar from former La Belle Vie and Dakota chef Jack Riebel. Now that the downtown Minneapolis restaurant has finally opened, does it live up to the hype? The answer, so far, is yes. Most all of B&B's dishes that include pork actually use the bolder-tasting wild boar, and the drink menu revolves around bourbon. Try the charcuterie, house-made sausages, the big double-cut pork chop, steaks, and the lobster grilled cheese sandwich, one of the best sandwiches in the Cities. All in all, an impressive debut.
