The Millennials have spoken and it's unanimous: Craft beer is the beverage of choice and restaurants are scrambling to get on board.
Local pizza institution Davanni's has taken notice. Owners are in the process of updating beer options at all of their locations. Currently, 11 of 21 restaurants (soon to be 22 when they open in Chanhassen) have increased their craft selection with a decidedly Minnesota bent.
"Our customers were the driving force behind our decision to carry craft beer," says co-owner Kristy Stenson Silva. "With a growing brewery culture in Minnesota, it seemed like the perfect time to make the change."
For now the craft line-up at Davanni's is focused on the 11 locations below, and primarily in bottles and cans. Surly and Fulton are already selling big, and Davanni's is also selling a few non-Minnesota options such as Goose Island and Rush River, both of which are still Midwest based. Their Eagan, Eden Prairie, and Edina locations have also added wine to the menu.
The restaurants will base their specific line-up of local beers by what is selling and what is not, rotating different local beers and adding wine as sales warrant at each location.
The company is aiming to have local beer at all 22 locations by the end of 2015.
