Festivities from last year's 612 Brew bash during Art-A-Whirl weekend

One thing is for certain, Art-A-Whirl is all about... well, art. But after strolling through tons of galleries all weekend, you're going to work up an appetite for more than just that amazing piece that would be perfect on your wall.

Here are just a few of the places where you can refuel with some grub and suds, hear a little music, and then head back into the artistic fray.

Northrup King Building 1500 Jackson St. NE

There'll be a handful food trucks parked outside the Northrup King Building throughout the weekend so you can chow down after checking out all that art.

Friday: Butcher Salt Saturday: Simply Steve's and Kabomelette Sunday: Scratch

Whirlygig at Indeed Brewing 711 15th Ave. NE Various times throughout the weekend

Along with tons of music, there'll be beer flowing all day including Indeed classics like Day Tripper, Let It Ride, Midnight Ryder, and more. Soak up those suds with goods from Gastrotruck, El Taco Riendo, Red River Kitchen, Natedogs, Simply Steve's, and Little G's Pizzeria.

N.E. Beer Garden 157 13th Ave. NE, in the parking lot next to Dangerous Man 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Start your day early with some brunch by Chowgirls Killer Catering (11 a.m. until 2 p.m.) before you catch some art and head back for brews from Dangerous Man, Fair State, Northgate, and Sociable Cider. Lulu's Street Food and Tiki Tim's food trucks will be parked out there, too.

Boom Island Brewing 2014 Washington Ave. N. Friday 4-9 p.m. Saturday 1-9 p.m. Sunday 1-6 p.m.

Check out Boom Island's taproom and some art there, since it'll be doubling as an exhibit space for a few artists, too. A cask of Brimstone Tripel will also be on tap until it runs dry.

Grumpy's NE 2200 Fourth St. NE 12-10 p.m.

Nosh on food from Surly's own chef Jorge Guzman while sippin' on Surly, special cask beer, Jameson, and more at Grumpy's NE as part of their Posters & Pints event featuring local artists.

Sociable Cider Werks 1500 Fillmore St. NE Various times throughout the weekend

Refresh yourself with cider, beer, and music galore at Sociable Cider Werks' taproom.

Stanley's Beer and Bacon Fest 2500 University Ave. NE Beer fest: 2-5 p.m. with music after

Snag two of our favorite things (beer and bacon) and stick around for some live music at Stanley's until after sundown.

The Lone Grazer Creamery 1612 Second St. NE 12-2 p.m.

Pick up some cheesy samples or a bag o' curds from the Lone Grazer Creamery during their event at Sentyrz during Art-A-Whirl.

The Liquid Zoo at Bauhaus Brew Labs 1315 Tyler St. NE Various times throughout the weekend

Sip on Bauhaus brews and nom on goods from food trucks galore.

Check out beers like Zero Hour, SIX, Unrated, Mary Ann, Gateway Park, and 612Brew's new German-inspired Radler that's being made just for this Art-A-Whirl weekend event. There'll be food trucks at the taproom too, like NateDogs, Sandy's Grill, Midnord Empanadas, the Moral Omnivore, and Hibachi Daruma.

The Anchor Fish & Chips 302 13th Ave. NE Saturday and Sunday starting at 12 p.m.

Feast on fish, chips, and more inside Anchor and in their back parking lot where there'll be plenty to eat, drink, and listen to -- rain or shine.

Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge 1900 Marshall St. NE Saturday 12-10 p.m.

Say hello to summer with Psycho Suzi's Outdoor Water Front Tiki Festival during Art-A-Whirl weekend with plenty of tropical coconut and pineapple drinks, State Fair-style eats, and the Bauhaus beer truck. Oh, and there's a puppy fashion show, too.

The Sample Room 2124 Marshall St. NE Friday and Saturday

Sip on wine, spiked lemonade, and Wasatch brewery beer while stocking up on napkins (keep those hands clean in the galleries!) for the Sample Room's Art-A-Whirl weekend BBQ grill with ribs, brisket, wings, and more.

BT McElrath Chocolatier 2010 E. Hennepin Ave., Building 14 Friday 3-7 p.m. Saturday 12-6 p.m.

For those of you with a sweet tooth, the chocolatier is hosting its annual sale this weekend with almond toffee, truffle balls, and more.

Jax Cafe 1928 University Ave. NE Friday 7 p.m.

Get a couple plates of food, two pints of craft beer, and tunes all night in the Cosmopolitan Room when you call and reserve your spot.

Erte 323 13th Ave. NE Saturday 12-3 p.m. Sunday 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Erte will be serving a special lunch menu for Art-A-Whirl this weekend.
