Before the real holiday madness sets in, the smart breweries, bars, and beer organizations are squeezing in their releases and events. There's a lot going on this weekend, so let's just get right into it.
Top billing goes to the Minnesota Beer Activists
Fundraiser Bash this Saturday at Dangerous Man Brewery.
The brewery will hold a silent auction with some pretty choice items donated by local liquor stores, bars, and sports teams. There are gift certificates from the Depot Tavern, autographed Vikings memorabilia, shirts and pint glasses from the recently launched Bent Brewstillery, a deluxe home-brew kit from Northern Brewer, and the chance to brew a commercial beer with Dangerous Man.
The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to pay for the organization's operating costs. As a group, their mission is to "represent consumer interests through active engagement in education, legislation, and community participation regarding beer, wine, and spirits in Minnesota." So if you want liquor sales on Sundays (among other things) come out and support the event.
Potter's Pasties will be on site selling hot little hand pies and Dangerous Man will be releasing an exclusive beer in honor of the event, which starts at noon and goes until 6 p.m.
Also on Saturday, Herkimer
celebrates its 14th anniversary with $2 pints all day and their signature porky Puerco sandwiches at their original price of $5.95. There will also be live music and a raffle to win tickets to next year's Bockfest. The brewery will be pouring from special firkins including their chocolate oatmeal stout, a cranberry-infused holiday saison, and Evergreen, a black IPA. The party starts at 10 a.m. and goes all the way until close.
Lift Bridge Brewery
is having a holiday beer bake-off to promote the release of its Biscotti seasonal beer. On Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., you can pick up 750 ml bottles of Biscotti at the Stillwater brewery and taproom and sample goodies made with beer at the bake-off. To participate, email [email protected]

tonight and Cafe Racer will be there tomorrow.
