There's never a dry weekend in the Minnesota beer scene. Here's another busy brew round-up:
Flat Earth is active again and in the midst of a soft opening at a new location in the old Hamm's Brewery. The site is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for samples and growler sales.
Boom Island is now selling four-packs of Witness Witbeir, with a tasting on Friday night at Haskell's (Bloomington) and also at Central Park Liquor.
Harriet Brewing will be active this weekend, with Saturday marking the annual Sol Bock Revival festival, a free party with live music, food trucks, and of course a new beer, the Sol Bock Maibock. On Friday night leading up to the event, there will be a pre-party with music from Crankshaft & the Gear Grinders and food from Cajun 2 Geaux.
Also on Saturday, Bent Brewstillery will be hosting the Rock-A-Billy Luau at Grumpy's Roseville.
On Sunday, the Muddy Pig is hosting the second annual Spring Art & Craft Beer Boutique from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., selling various crafts and offering discounts on beer with purchases from the 14 vendors.
As for other new beers and beer news, Indeed has increased distribution, teaming with J.J. Taylor to reach markets in Rochester and the southeast metro. The rapidly growing company is on track for a 100 percent increase in brewing from last year if current rates hold.
Fulton released two new brews recently, the Maitrise Imperial Farmhouse ale, which is on draft at select locations and hits the taproom on Saturday, and MPLS Mild, or Garage Series #2, a sessionable English-styled ale.
For those gearing up for warm-weather beer events, ticket sales are open for this year's 22nd Annual City Pages Beer Festival. The festival is slated for May 31 from 5 to 9 p.m. near 10th and Hennepin. And tickets for the Beer Dabbler at Twin Cities Pride go on sale at 7 p.m. on April 29. The June 27 event will feature live music, silent disco, and lots of beer -- including the debuts of new brewhouses Tin Whiskers (St. Paul) and Bauhaus Brew Labs (Minneapolis).Food trucks this week include Scratch (Friday) and Simply Steve's (Saturday) at Fulton and Gastrotruck (Friday) and Little G's Pizzeria (Saturday) at Indeed.
