After a rainy week, local breweries are starting to look ahead to festival season. Tickets are on sale, or go on sale soon, for events such as the 22nd Annual City Pages Beer Festival, All Pints North, Beer Dabbler at Twin Cities Pride, and Beer Dabbler Festival. Also on sale are Vine Park's tickets for their annual Brews Cruise, featuring Vine Park beers and a Mississippi riverboat cruise.
Meanwhile, in brewery happenings this weekend, there is live music at Harriet (as always) in the form of Steve Kaul & the Brass Kings on Friday and Silverback Colony on Saturday. There is a cover charge for these late night activities.
On Saturday, there's a homebrewers' event at Lucid, the American Homebrewer Association Rally with supplies and panelists leading a day of beer education, prizes and giveaways, and beer drinking. The rally starts at 1 p.m.
Also on Saturday afternoon, Town Hall Brewery will release its Maibock beer in a special blessing ceremony at each of their locations: Town Hall Tap at 3 p.m., Town Hall Lanes at 4 p.m., and the original 7 Corners location at 5 p.m. Happy hour prices and freebies will be available.
As for local beers, Summit's Summer Ale is now available and 3rd Street Brewhouse has released its Hunny Do wheat beer with warmer weather in mind.
Fulton has announced a new distribution deal that will push them into markets in St. Cloud, Brainerd, and into the central part of the state.For those hitting the taprooms this weekend, Midnord Empanada (Friday) and Cafe Racer (Saturday) will be at Harriet, and R.A. MacSammy's (Friday) and Cajun 2 Geaux (Saturday) will be at Summit in St. Paul.
