Weekend brew round-up: Bootcamp & Beer, a benefit for PACER, and more
Beer lovers, kick off your brew-centric weekend today with the benefit Raise a Glass: A Toast to PACER, featuring several local breweries such as Fulton, Flat Earth, Brau Brothers, and Sociable Cider Werks. Tickets for the beer and wine tasting are $35.
Fitness buffs can get a new kind of workout at "Bootcamp & Beer" on Saturday. Participants will spend an hour at Lucid Brewery with a certified instructor and undertake such tasks as culling kegs and pulling a 3,000-pound pallet of beer. The event requires registration at GetKnit Events and will take place again in March and April. A Lucid beer sampling will follow the hour-long workout.
Also in St. Paul, the Minnesota History Center continues to run the American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition exhibit through March 16.
In other beer news, Indeed continues to turn out new beers with its spring seasonal Let It Ride IPA. The beer will officially release on Tuesday, February 25, at Blue Door Longfellow. It will be available until April on taps and in six-packs.
Surly's Amon Amarth-inspired Asator Viking IPA is available in limited supply at the brewery, and tours will be available on Saturday, February 22, with sign-up sheets in the taproom.
Food trucks go hand-in-hand with taprooms, and Surly will host Natedogs this Friday and Tollefson's Chefs Table on Saturday. In Minneapolis, Fulton will have Little G's Pizzeria on hand Friday and Get Sauced on Saturday.
