Mark your calendars: Compassionate Action for Animals hosts its second annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 26, at the Seward Cafe in Minneapolis.

There are two ways to participate. First, consider competing. The competition has space for 13 contestants, who bring 15 cups of prepared, animal-free chili in a crock pot with a list of ingredients. Registration costs $20--visit this link to sign up--but animal-friendly prizes will be awarded to the top three recipes via popular vote and a panel of expert chili judges.

Second, show up to eat. From 7:30 to10 p.m., attendees can sample all the chili offerings for free, in exchange for their vote. Free beverages will also be provided in case some of the stews are highly spiced.
