Another day, another national ranking for the Twin Cities food scene. This time, restaurant app Urbanspoon has released its list of the most popular fine dining establishments in the country, and several Twin Cities favorites -- the Oceanaire Seafood Room, Manny's Steakhouse, and Meritage -- made the cut.

The Twin Cities spots on this list fall somewhere between those two extremes. And aside from offering swank surroundings and impeccable service, they all also boast some of the freshest seafood in fly-over country. Oceanaire prides itself on a vast array of fish and fruits de mer flown in daily from around the world; Meritage's oyster bar is like a trip to the south of France and its Oysterfest, an annual event celebrating all things bivalve, is always a hit; and Manny's Steakhouse knows that splendor is more than a meat cart full of dry-aged steaks -- you've got to have that triple seafood tower. Perhaps in our landlocked state we've got a special appreciation for the luxury of a succulent lobster tail.
So what is it that makes a fine dining experience worth the extra cash to you, Hot Dish readers? What are some of your favorite local spots for fancy food?
