Taste of the Nation's HOTList will feature over 20 of the Twin Cities top restaurants
Philanthropist foodies, it's time again for the Share Our Strength Taste of the Nation HOTlist. The annual summer event is held at the Guthrie Theater and features over 20 of the Twin Cities' top restaurants, chefs, and bartenders sharing their tastiest eats and drinks to raise money for the fight against childhood hunger.
In addition to samples from top restaurants like La Belle Vie, Borough, Coup d'Etat, Heyday, Brasa, and Victory 44, this year's HOTList will also feature a sneak peek at one of the summer's most anticipated new restaurants: Libertine. Chef Tim McKee is in charge of the new Libertine project from Parasole Restaurant Holdings and he also serves as the event's Celebrity Chef Chair.
In addition to the impressive list of eateries, HOTlist will also feature a collection of the Twin Cities' top mixologists. Newly appointed La Belle Vie head bartender Adam Gorski will be putting together a special cocktail to pair with desserts by local pastry chef extraordinaire, Diane Yang. In addition to Yang's desserts, James Beard Award nominee Michelle Gayer will provide sweet treats, as will local ice creamery Izzy's.
The HOTlist raises money to purchase lunches for school aged children. According to No Kid Hungry, only 1 in 7 kids who currently receive free or reduced price lunches during the school year will receive free meals in the summer, when school is out of session.
HOTlist will take place on Monday, June 23 at 7 p.m. General admission tickets to the event run $75, however a VIP option is also available, and grants event goers early admission, access to a VIP raw bar courtesy of Sea Change, and a variety of other goodies, all for $100.
