You can look at today being National Acorn Squash Day in really only one of two ways:
The Glass Half-Empty Way:
Whuh? It's freaking early September. Acorn squash has no business making its presence known until, say, at least Halloween. Nay, post Halloween. Acorn squash is turkey and dressing and Pilgrims. It is not Labor Day.
The Glass Half-Full Way:
We welcome you, Oh Autumn, and all your accoutrements: sweaters, morning frost, chili, etc. etc. etc. and acorn squash. Honoring acorn squash on Sept. 7 signals the impending arrival of nothing but the best season of the year.
Where do you stand? Is your acorn squash glass half empty or half full?
