The Guthrie Theater's restaurant operations have been languishing ever sinse Lenny Russo's departure...but that should change this spring when La Belle Vie wunderchef Tim McKee takes over the theater's street-level restaurant space, currently occupied by Cue.
The Guthrie announced that McKee will be working in conjunction with the Dallas-based foodservice provider Culinaire, which will handle all the Guthrie's food and beverage services, which includes event catering, Level 5, the Target Lounge and lobby bars, and the street level restaurant. (Bon Appétit Management Company has run the Guthrie's dining and catering services since 2006 but is ending their contract with the theater this spring.)
Dowling's pick of McKee was a smart one (they don't pay that guy 600-large for nothing!) as not only the two-time James Beard "Best Chef" nominee an excellent cook, but he also seems to be an amazing businesman, managing to juggle many responsibilities at his restaurants, La Belle Vie, Solera, Smalley's, and Barrio.
Amazing chef and master multi-tasker, Tim McKee.
