Thomas Keller and Sebastien Rouxel of Bouchon will be stopping in town to promote their new Bouchon Bakery cookbook along with a little help from local celebrity chefs Andrew Zimmern and Tim McKee. A very special book signing will take place at La Belle Vie, and you're invited.
On Tuesday, June 18, La Belle Vie
will host a small reception featuring cocktails and small plates from McKee, La Belle Vie chef de cuisine Michael DeCamp, and pastry chef Diane Yang beginning at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are only $250. Okay, that's not a cheap price, but it isn't every day that the James Beard Award-winning chef Keller of the Michelin-rated restaurants including French Laundry, Per Se, and Bouchon swings through town. This will be his only stop in the Twin Cities.
The book is co-authored by Sebastien Rouxel, the executive pastry chef for the Keller Group. In 2005, he was named a "Rising Star" by StarChefs magazine. In 2006 and again in 2008, Pastry Art & Design magazine declared him one of the "Top Ten Best Pastry Chefs in America."
Chef Thomas Keller
"This is a rare opportunity to hang out for an evening actually chatting with one of the world's most influential chefs," noted McKee. "How often do any of us get an opportunity like this? It's going to be a very special night not only for our guests, but for us as well."
Adding to the star power, Andrew Zimmern will be in attendance, right off of his latest James Beard Award win, and will host a Q&A presentation.
All guests will receive a signed copy of Bouchon Bakery, which is described as "an exploration of Keller's all-American childhood treats and the classic French pastries he adored as a young chef in Paris."
Tickets are available by calling La Belle Vie at 612-874-6440.
