The May issue of Mpls.St.Paul Magazine packs an informational punch on Twin Cities dining deals. The eight-page spread meticulously breaks down, via various tables, charts, and pop-out factoids, who has Happy Hour deals and when, "first seating" deals, and extreme detail on what days to go where and why.
For example, the mag found 10 area restaurants that have daily Happy Hour specials, (And these aren't just any area restaurants. Among them are: Nick and Eddie, Stella's, and Morton's.). The issue also reports on who has half-price wine specials (daily at al Vento and Chambers), and where to go for for prix fixe meals and "date night" specials, which includes some of the TC's best restaurants: for example, La Belle Vie, Solera, 20.21, Broders', Vincent, and The Nook.
There's also a pageful of information on the underappreciated and underutilized "Sunday Dinner" and info. on diner cards (eight of 'em, in fact). The magazine says to make sure and call ahead as some deals may only apply through the end of May. Elsewhere in its pages, the magazine also has some good tidbits on where to head when you go to Hudson, Wis.
