The Rogue at Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group: This drink of the week is a real deviant
The Rogue skips off the beaten path with an unlikely but totally likeable booze combo.
The Rogue Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group $11
Sometimes, going where everybody knows your name is overrated. Maybe a little anonymity is what you're after, in a busy scene with bright colors, big screens, and strong drinks. Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group embraces its chipper blend of futuristic kitsch and serves fun, outrageously flavored beverages that don't take themselves too seriously. Go rogue, with this appropriately named cocktail for your new off-the-grid persona. Perhaps nobody knows your name, but after one or two of these fruity numbers, you might be more willing to share.

Get cozy with your new best friend, the Rogue, a fun and unexpected drink that combines Cynar, Canton ginger liqueur, a little bit of pulpy orange juice, and hazelnut rum. The resulting mix is tangy and sweet, with a hint of herbal goodness and spice. Though perfectly fine for a bout of evening imbibing, it would make a brilliant brunch alternative to just another boring old screwdriver or mimosa, with extra layers of flavor beyond the usual booze-mixer relationship.
And though definitely beach-worthy with its tropical flavor profile, the Rogue saves itself from an exclusively warm-weather designation by adding the earthy Italian Cynar. Plus, with heart-healthy hazelnut (rum), artichoke (liqueur), and ginger (cordial), this cocktail is practically living in juice bar territory, so you can feel a bit better about that deep fried bacon with red-eye gravy, blue crab fondue, or any other decadent choices made in the Cafeteria. It's like high school all over again, but with duck nachos instead of vending machine cheetos, and tasty, tasty booze to lubricate your social awkwardness. No excuses: Get out there and make a friend.
