The Liffey: happy hour of the week
175 7th St. W., St. Paul. 651.556.1420
hours and details: Monday-Friday, 11am-6pm, $1.50 off house wine and rail drinks, $2 off most pints. $5.99 appetizer menu, Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm
Venue: The Liffey is nothing if not atmospheric, filled with dark wood fixtures imported from Ireland, vintage furnishings, tin ceilings, and lovely artwork. There are cozy nooks to disappear into, comfy couches to chat with friends, and friendly folks at the bar to hang out with. And in the summer, enjoy one of the very best roof top patios in the cities with gorgeous views of Downtown.
From 2pm-6pm the happy hour food menu is quite nice--we especially love the chips with three dipping sauce, although not the biggest happy hour bargain in town, when paired with a discounted pint and the view of St. Paul from the patio, it is hard to complain. And with pints and discounted rail drinks ALL DAY LONG, this happy hour becomes even more inviting. When the weather is not-so-nice, there is so finer place to tuck into for an afternoon spending some nice lone time reading the paper and having a Guinness (pumped with gas for a perfect froth,) or if you are feeling more lively, invite your buds along for some beer-soaked good times in one a little side room charmingly called a snug.
