Thanksgiving for vegans this Friday
The holidays can be a hard time for vegetarians and vegans. Grandma doesn't always understand chicken broth is not vegetarian, and even if you weren't vegan you wouldn't eat that lettuce and Jello thing that always shows up at family parties. This Friday vegans, vegetarians, and the curious are invited to fill up on tasty vegan treats at this annual potluck.
Yep, it's a potluck, so guests are asked to bring a vegan main dish, side dish, or dessert to share with friends. For the record vegan means no meat products, dairy, honey (though this often depends on the vegan--but no honey tonight), gelatin, eggs, or refined sugar. Be sure to bring a serving utensil and a recipe/ingredient list to put next to your tasty vittles as well.
The event is this Friday, November 27 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church (4901 Chowen Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612.822.6161).
