Fans of French fare in the West Metro are in for a treat in the new year. The wildly popular Patrick's Bakery is expanding to The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes with the forthcoming Tarte Flambée.
The space was once the home of California Pizza Kitchen. The menu star will be the eponymous tart flambée, made from bread dough rolled very thin and topped with all manner of savory ingredients. Traditionally, the whole business is then thrust into a wood-burning fire -- in this case a pizza oven -- and baked.
But that is not all! As chef and owner Patrick Bernet told us, " I would like to emphasize that our new location will have three concepts in one. Restaurant, bakery and patisserie." So, you can expect to find their renowned pastries, baked goods and dine out with the family.
Since opening the first Patrick's Bakery in 2002, Bernet has garnered numerous baking awards and sworn pastry allegiance from many of his fans and neighbors. This isn't their first foray into savory territory, though. The sandwiches at Patrick's Bakery have clinched the title of "epic sandwich" according to one Hot Dish contributor, and dinners at the Richfield location are an elegant affair.
The new restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also hope to secure a full liquor license to include cocktails. Ooh la la, sounds like reason enough for an afternoon at the Shoppes. They expect to be open in early 2014.
