Because it's a no-brainer and someone had to do it, Taco Cat came to the rescue in 2012 to the fill the terrible void that was the equation of tacos + bikes = tacos delivered to your door. Yes, even late-night taco delivery.
Still a bit of an underground entity, Taco Cat started as grassroots as it gets -- with a Facebook page and a phone number ("Call number, get tacos"). But now they've got a legit kitchen space they're renting out of Kitchen in the Market at Midtown Global Market, and a fleet of bike delivery messengers. They're delivering all winter long, all over Minneapolis (within reason -- if you're unsure of you delivery area, call and ask) and have just announced that they'll now be open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for brunch and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner.
This is excellent news for those of us who love our brunch and will love it that much more now that it can come to us. Taco Cat is advertising breakfast burritos "For all you hungover idiots," and that's music to our ears.
They will, however, be closed on Mondays.
