When happy hour lasts all day long, everyone comes out a champ. Here is our take on how it goes down at Sushi Tango every Thursday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.:

[jump] Venue: Sushi Tango is one of the local originators of modern, artful sushi presentations, with fresh and pickled veggies and fish blooming like flowers in their high-quality rolls. The room is contemporary, nicely lit, a little den of tranquility in the hectic world of Uptown. We especially like hanging out on the patio--not as crazed as other Uptown outdoor venues, simple and cozy.

Verdict: Happy hour at Sushi Tango is perfect for sampling a nice selection of rolls, including dynamite, caterpillar, and crunchy, as well as sushi and sashimi samplers for $8.95. The beef or tuna tataki is also a fine choice at $8 (compared to $11 on the regular menu). In this case, happy hour doesn't necessarily mean getting your drinky on; this menu is also ideal for a reasonably priced lunch or afternoon bite. Yet a little sip of sake would be swell for smoothing out those rough edges, especially as the warm breezes of late summer flow.
