I got an invite in the middle of the night, like some super hush-hush undercover agent in a cloak delivering a manila envelope:
"Sweet Science secret tasting TONIGHT" it read.
Six to eight flavors that the public has never tasted, and will never taste again, from what has fast become our best local ice cream maker — the stuff is dense as liquid mortar with flavors that come on with the speed and intensity of a Ferrari.
They're promising chocolate salted caramel with brownie chunks and cashews, lemon basil, and watermelon lime sorbet plus a few old favorites coming out of retirement for this one-night-only performance.
And, they say, these are fleeting as a mysterious kiss in the night. They'll grace your lips for one night only — that's tonight, folks — and then be gone forever.
The tasting will take place tonight, Friday, July 31, at Cook St. Paul, 1124 Payne Ave., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
