Last week we have a run-down of some of the best wings around town, but if you're looking for something other than sauce-slathered chicken (okay, there's some more of that on this list too) to serve at your game-day party, plenty of restaurants are offering their catering services over the busy weekend, including a few that don't usually do big quantities all packaged to go.

Here are a few of our favorites.

When everybody's serving the same old chili and seven-layer dip and you decide to get ribs for a crowd from Ted Cook's,  yours will be the house everyone flocks to. The winner of City Pages' favorite ribs in the Twin Cities many, many times over, Ted Cook's catering will smoke and sauce ribs to serve 25 people for $146. Round out your buffet table with sides like black-eyed peas, corn muffins, baked beans, and potato salad for under $30 an order. (2814 E. 38th St., Minneapolis; website)
Cured gravlax and mini-toasts don't exactly go with kickoffs and touchdowns, so the always-elegant Bachelor Farmer has found a way to do game day their way. The brothers Dayton and chef Paul Berglund have created what they're calling "a Walking Box," filled with five pieces of buttermilk fried chicken, red cabbage coleslaw, sweet baked beans, honey butter, bannock bread, and even a big ol' sea salt brownie for dessert. If you're planning on a group of at least 12 people and you can give 24 hours' notice for your order, Brasa's catering is an awesome game-day choice. Who wouldn't want to indulge in a big, Creole-style spread of creamy pulled chicken, garlic and lime pork shoulder, or sweet and spicy smoked beef with generous sides of cheese grits, fried yucca, bright and light cabbage slaw, mac and cheese, and chips and guacamole? If you can get it together and get your order in before 7 p.m. on Saturday, your guests will be in for a serious treat. Thomas Kim and Kat Melgaard of the Left-Handed Cook have created two meal options for takeout on Sunday. The first is called "Chicks, Man" and consists of 20 pieces of Left-Handed's now-famous 21-spice fried chicken strips with your choice of sauce plus 20 more pieces of Korean double-fried chicken wings with sauce -- all for only $50. If your group is a little bigger, you may want to go for the "Phoebe Buffay," which is 20 pieces of the same 21-spice fried chicken strips with choice of sauce, 20 pieces of Korean double-fried chicken wings with sauce, and scallion ginger fried rice with sweet and sour bacon, plus 10 chicken meatball sliders, for a pretty unbeatable $100 price tag. Okay, so ordering a pizza on Super Bowl Sunday isn't the most original idea, but if you're going to do it, why not get an aptly shaped football pizza from Crescent Moon Bakery? The Afghani bakery and restaurant makes a mean pizza, with a soft, chewy crust, original topping choices (including gyro meat), and a bright green chimichurri-like dipping sauce. Plus, the oversized pizzas do well when feeding a crowd. (2339 Central Ave., Minneapolis; website)

Sub sandwiches are another classic option for a football party. They're easy, everyone likes them, and they only require a napkin for serving. But so often a party sub is a sad, disappointing mess. Not so if you order your platter from the fantastic Be'Wiched Deli in the now-booming restaurant district of the North Loop. For $65 you'll get a selection of house-cured and smoked meat sandwiches, including their New York-style pastrami; medium rare roast beef with Havarti, horseradish, and onion jam; smoked turkey with goat cheese bacon, and Medjool dates; and an artful veggie sandwich with asparagus, fennel, and fromage blanc on focaccia.
