The sun is setting on Sunsets

There are all kinds of restaurant changes happening out in the western suburbs and here comes another one. Sunsets Wayzata has announced that after 25 years, they will be closing their doors soon -- though those lights won't be dark forever.
Owners Brian Prose and Paul Swenson have sold the property to Dean Vlahos and another business partner. Vlahos is known in the restaurant industry as the founder of Champps Americana and Redstone Grill.
The future remains unclear for a planned second Sunsets location in Woodbury.
The final dinner service will take place Sunday, March 2. Until then, the restaurant has invited friends and fans to visit the Sunsets Facebook page and leave pictures and share stories about their time on the shores of Lake Minnetonka.
After Sunsets' doors have closed, Wayzata residents can expect a new concept to take its place. From the food to the decor to the menu, everything about the restaurant space will be refreshed. Vlahos has yet to release any details about what he has in store, but right now, the new concept should open in early summer -- just in time for that patio weather that should be arriving any day now.
