Life will be a little sweeter in St. Paul next week when the St. Paul Classic Cookie Co. throws a grand opening at its new location. The bakery will hand out free samples of its goodies and cups of Peace coffee on Saturday, February 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in an event that doubles as a food drive for Second Harvest. Bring in some nonperishable food and get a 10 percent discount on the bake shop's cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and more.
Classic Cookie has actually been open in its new spot (2386 Territorial Rd., just north of University Avenue near the 280 and 94 interchange) for a couple of weeks now, but the open house will be a way to introduce the digs to customers and neighbors just in time for Valentine's Day ("It's one of our biggest days," says owner Katie Novotny). You can check out the full list of her wares (which include a cookie called the Ultimate: oatmeal, chocolate, and butterscotch chips, rolled in coconut) at Classic Cookie's blog.
