It's true. We love coffee. And the only thing we love more than coffee is free coffee. Fortunately for those of us who love the brew that comes with zero dollar signs attached, Spyhouse will be participating in a special two-week-long pop-up where they'll be serving up -- yeah, you guessed it -- free coffee.
The pop-up will run from October 13 to November 1, between the hours of 7 and 11 a.m. at 811 Glenwood Ave. in Minneapolis. They'll be serving up fresh brewed coffee along with a few other specialty options.
The pop-up is a collaboration between Spyhouse and First & First, a real estate company that specializes in the remodel of overlooked properties of historical significance. The event will be taking place at a newly renovated space right near International Market Square and is intended to give coffee drinkers a special inside look at the remodeled interior.
The idea for the spontaneous coffee shop was conceived in conjunction with First & First, Spyhouse, and Fellow Advertising & Design as new take on a traditional open house. First & First did the redesign of the northeast Minneapolis Spyhouse location, which is where their relationship initially took root. While the pop-up is open to the public, the primary idea is that it will also give local entrepreneurs the opportunity to check out the space.
Currently there are no long-term plans for an actual Spyhouse location in the building, but First & First CEO Peter Remes is clearly open to the possibility. "We'd love to have a coffee shop, restaurant, or some other kind of retail space in there as we feel that the area is pretty under-served in that regard," he says.
