It's the one weekend of the year where costumed drinking is not only allowed but encouraged, so you better believe this weekend brew round-up is full of tricks and treats -- alcohol treats, which are obviously the best kind of treats.
Here's where to spend your time and best outfits this weekend.
Bent Brewstillery in Roseville is hosting a Halloween bash and costume contest. All you have to do to enter is show up and buy a pint, but dressing as one of Bent's beer characters is highly encouraged. Prizes will be given out to first, second, and third place winners, all determined by Bent's bartenders, so tip well. The event goes from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight.
At Mankato Brewery's Howloween Creature Feature, guests can bid on creepy art and artifacts while drinking a pint of the brewery's recently released mint stout. Proceeds from the sale of all pieces will go to benefit Riverside Regional Pet Shelter, and there will be live music in the taproom. Tonight's event starts at 7 p.m. and will wrap around 9 p.m.
Some of the fun will be saved for Saturday when Summit releases its 17th installment of the Unchained series at the Xcel Energy Center. Starting at 7 p.m. vendors will be pouring Harvest Fresh IPA, an American Ale made with a blend of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops from Moxie, Washington. It's available at several stalls within the Xcel, but here's a handy map if you need more specific directions. Over at the Summit Brewery taproom, they'll be doing trivia tonight starting at 6 p.m. and R.A. McSammy's food truck will be parked outside for all your cheesy sustenance needs.
In other odds and ends, Boneyard will be hosting a Halloween party tonight featuring $4 pints of beers from New Belgium Brewing. Big Wood will be doing a costume and air guitar contest at its taproom tonight, in honor of the release of Bad Axe. A limited number of growlers of Bad Axe will be available for sale.
