Dinner and a movie at the same time is a godsend for people unable to make small talk.
Who doesn't like sitting on a rooftop, noshing on some food and watching a movie? No one. Not one person on this planet doesn't like that combination of things. So, it's a good thing that Solera's Dinner and a Movie on the Rooftop series begins tonight with a showing of the classic, Cowboys and Aliens.
If movies that star an increasingly frail looking Harrison Ford and plots that seem to have been stolen from the fever dreams of a seven-year-old boy don't float your boat, don't worry. The following week, they'll be showing Ghostbusters,
which will allow you and your friends the chance to debate the merits of a potential third Ghostbusters
movie while eating and looking down on the earthbound passersby. The light rooftop menu includes dishes such as a charcuterie plate, chopped salad, pollo asada, smoked brisket, lechon (a slow-roasted pork dish), and desserts, among other options, plus Solera's famous sangria.
This annual series will run throughout the summer and will take place every Tuesday and Sunday evening. The movies begin at dusk, and while no reservations are taken for the rooftop, they do suggest you show up early to guarantee a spot.
Here is the movie lineup for this month:
May 1: Cowboys & Aliens
May 6: Ghostbusters
May 8: Thor
May 13: True Grit
May 15: Grease
May 20: Cinderella Man
May 22: Twilight: Breaking Dawn
