The front bar at Sociable Cider Werks, stocked and ready for serving
New taproom alert: Sociable Cider Werks
in northeast Minneapolis officially (softly) opened for business on November 29. They're now serving a handful of beers and a draft root beer, and have a cider that's midway through the fermentation process available for sampling.
We stopped by over the weekend to see what's going on at the Fillmore Street facility. Here's a peek at the Twin Cities' first hard cider house.
The brewery's owners are estimating their first apple graffs will be ready by early January, as they need time to age. But in the meantime, they have a nice stout, an amber ale, and a pale ale available by the pint or as part of a four-beer sampling flight.
Sociable is currently allowing customers to try their dry apple graff, Freewheeler, with the caveat that it is still in the process of fermenting and not intended to be the same as the finished product.
Taproom hours are Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.
