An enormous cake trumps mystery chocolates. Cakewalk is coming February 28
Late on the Valentine's gift? Suddenly realizing that Russell Stover chocolate might be a bit of a raspberry creme let down? Trust us, if your V-Day present involves any item that could be picked up at the local Super America, it's time to double down. The moment is here, and this event is a one-stop shop of all of the very best in sugar arts the Twin Cities has to offer.
Every great pastry chef in town turns out for the annual Share Our Strength Cakewalk. From the majesty of Diane Yang of La Belle Vie's elegant creations to the nationally renowned Michelle Gayer of the Salty Tart to best-selling author Zoë François: This is where we pull out the big guns.
This year there will also be savory chefs from some of the area's most lauded restaurants, like Jack Riebel from Butcher & the Boar (in the VIP section), Erick Harcey from Victory 44 and the newly opened Parka, and Mike Brown of Travail.
All this talent, and that's only a glimpse at the chefs who will turn out.
For one night they all come together and bake their little hearts out in an effort to stamp out childhood hunger. So eat well, do good, and get a chuckle in - this year's event will again be hosted by the Stephanies of My Talk 107.1's Weekly Dish, March and Hansen.
It's the perfect present, and trust me, your sweetie will thank you for it.
