Sausage and beer emporium New Bohemia to open second location in Golden Valley
Golden Valley will soon be home to a new New Bohemia
Good news for sausage and craft beer lovers: Northeast Minneapolis's New Bohemia Wurst & BierHaus is opening a second location, and this time they're taking their sausage party out to the 'burbs. The company spent a lot of time looking at potential locations around the Twin Cities and have set their sights on Golden Valley.

New Bohemia offers 140 varieties of craft brewed beer
The company will open its newest New Bohemia location in the recently shuttered Godfather's Pizza spot at 8040 Olson Memorial Hwy. The area is currently dominated by fast food and fast casual restaurants.
"We looked at the market out there as a very underserved market. Within three miles, there are 19,000 people. It's dense, and the daytime population is pretty much the same," co-owner Jeff Bornmann told the Business Journal.
The plans for the new location include a 125-seat dining room with a wrap-around patio that includes an additional 57 seats. The company is also looking at a number of other locations around the Twin Cities and hopes to open a total of 10 more spots over the course of the next five years.
Of course New Bohemia is known best for a wide variety of sausages, which include classics like a kielbasa, Cajun Andouille, and Mexican-style chorizo, as well as more adventurous sausages like smoked duck with cilantro, smoked elk, and rattlesnake with rabbit and jalapeno.
In addition to the bevy of sausage options, New Bohemia also carries over 140 craft beers including a rotating selection of 36 draft beers and an extensive collection of locally brewed varieties. New Bohemia also offers a 10-cent Tuesday special, where guests can order 10-cent pints of select beer from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
