Chefs gotta have fun, too. While you celebrate the engagement, the anniversary, the new house, chefs and cooks are doing the same toiling, night after night, sweating over the same stove with the same knobs and the same cute servers to check out. (Even that gets a little old.) Which is when you know it's time to switch things up.
There aren't a whole lot of things one can do to keep a restaurant kitchen fresh, short of changing the menu, and then you the customer get all mad and want to know what the heck has happened to your Flavor Country Burger, sooooo....
Haute Dish and Lyn 65 are taking advantage of the State Fair doldrums by switching kitchens for two nights only. (Did you know that local restaurants get pretty slow during the 12 days of the State Fair, so now is a great time to get a seat just about anywhere? Nighthawks, Revival, Hola Arepa, I'm looking at you.)
September 1 and 2, dine at either restaurant for a whole new way to look at what they do — they're bringing their entire crews with them, including bartenders, but front of house staff will remain the same.
The menus by each respective restaurant will be "Creative and original, yet familiar and definitely fun."
The "Wife Swap," as they're calling it, will be held at dinner service on September 1 and 2.
Menu peek: Haute Dish's General Tso's Sweetbreads will make an appearance at Lyn 65, as will chicken and waffles with soft serve bacon frio.
