Regional cookbook digest? Check.

Sure, yeah, it's easier and cheaper to just run to and quick print out some tried-and-true, award-winning recipe for your next dinner party or whatever, but don't you still want to line your shelves with colorful cookbook kitsch and flair?

A recent Worthington Daily Globe article points us in the right direction: It's not only a mini-digest of recently published local and regional cookbooks, but it also draws attention to local publishing houses where you can waste time (I mean enrich yourself) by perusing other titles such as: "The Gourmet's Guide to Cooking With Beer" and "The Pocket Guide to Wild Food: Making the Most of Nature's Larder." Mmm, larder.

Among the titles is a collection of the favorite recipes of popular former WCCO broadcaster Joyce Lamont and one of seasonal, Midwestern dishes compiled by current Strib food editor Lee Svitak Dean.
