Red House Barnfest music festival to feature four critically acclaimed food trucks
She Royal Deli will bring a taste of Ethiopia to the Red Wing music festival.
Music-lovers heading to the Red House Barnfest can expect to enjoy some of the finest folk, bluegrass, Americana, and blues music at the event in Red Wing on August 4. And lucky for them, attendees can also anticipate eating pretty darn well at the all-day festival, with vendors representing a selection of critically acclaimed food trucks.
The lineup at Red House Barnfest, which takes place on the hillside of an outside amphitheatre in a beautiful farm setting in Red Wing, includes Lucy Kaplansky, Bill Staines, John Williams, and Drew Nelson among others.
Festival-goers can expect to choose from the following gastronomical treats at the outdoor event:
Pigs & Wings Barbeque will offer pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches, slaw, and beans. The family business from Red Wing has been serving up its secret slow-cooking and smoking recipes at Barnfest since 2009.
The She Royal food truck (an offshoot of She Royal Deli) will serve Ethiopian/East African delights such as stewed lentils and injera bread, along with smoothies and their take on some American classics -- such as the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and the Thousand Hills hamburger.
If British fare is more your thing, then The Anchor food truck will be serving its delicious fish and chips, meat and veggie pasties, battered sausages, and its famous gravy chips, among other classics from across the pond. We're hungry already.
And for dessert? 10,000 Licks will be on site with Minnesota-made popsicles, which emphasize fresh, local fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Favorite flavors include Strawberry Basil, Lavender Lemon, Cantaloupe Ginger, Sweet Corn, and Vanilla Beet. One thing's for sure: If they decide to sell their "Bluegrass" popsicle (blueberry & lemongrass), it's sure to be a Barnfest hit.
