Psycho Suzi's: Happy hour of the week
A Poor Man's Paradise, indeed.
Hours and Details: 3 p.m.-6 p.m. daily with half off select taps and rail drinks. 10 p.m.-2 a.m., Sunday-Thursday, late happy hour $6 personal pizzas and drink specials.
So how does Psycho Suzi's rate among Twin Cities happy hours?
Venue: Psycho Suzi's, the den of all things vintage-groovy, is the place to have a drink served in a ceramic coconut, parrot, or pirate's head, complete with paper umbrella. Housed in a former A & W restaurant, it's a thrift island paradise where you can sip your cocktail on the patio under a thatch umbrella. Word on the street is that Psycho Suzi's is moving to Gabby's current location, so make sure to stop by the original patio to create a few more rum-filled memories before they go.
Verdict: If you like your surroundings kitchy and booze-soaked, this is the place to hang. The original purveyors of tiki-goofball chic, it's hard not to have a fun time here. Psycho Suzi's happy hours are not stingy, starting at the "it must be 5 o'clock somewhere!" hour of 3 p.m. Enjoy half-priced select taps and rail drinks, early, and rocking drink specials late, as follows:
Monday: Sailor Jerry and coke, Kilo Kai $3, Daiquiris $4, Schlitz $2
Tuesday: taps and wells, $2.50
Wednesday: Mai Tais and Margaritas, $5
Thursday: 1/2 off all whiskey
Sunday: 2-4-1 Stoli, Stella, and Summit
and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar or Tropical Mimosas, $5.95, $3 off Pitchers
