Primebar, the chain moving into the former Il Gatto (and Figlio before it) location in Calhoun Square, is now open for business. After a soft opening over the past weekend, it is ready for the public to check out its 60 taps and gastropub-inspired fare.
Primebar is an import from Chicago, with locations in Chicago, Dallas, and Wesley Chapel, Florida. Its menu is upscale bar food, such as pulled pork and prime rib sliders, tacos, flatbreads, specialty sandwiches such as ahi tuna and pork tenderloin, and entrees that range from a daily mac and cheese to a petite filet, the high-end item on the menu at $30. Most of the dishes run from $6 to $14.
The beverage menu includes good-sized lists of specialty cocktails and wines and local craft beers.
Primebar's original June 28 opening was delayed for unexplained reasons. We'll have a first look at the new Uptown location soon.
