Pinstripes is Edina's answer to the Bryant-Lake Bowl
Pinstripes--a dining/entertainment concept out of Illinois--is bringing Italian fare, bowling, and bocce to Centennial Lakes in Edina. The company currently has locations in Northbrook and South Barrington, IL, which, in many ways resemble Centennial Lakes's Chuck E. Cheese's--except they're geared towards yuppies versus kids.
Pinstripes will combine an Italian-American bistro (rock shrimp risotto, chicken Marsala, wood fired pizzas, extensive wine list) with an adjacent bowling alley and bocce courts--and place heavy emphasis on hosting group events. The two-story Edina location will be adjacent to The Container Store and is expected to open in November.
It seems like a smart concept for the south-metro demographic. If the busy eateries at Southdale, Galleria, and France Ave (Tavern on France, etc.) are any indication, Pinstripes will likely do well in the Centennial Shops. The somewhat obscure shopping strip has been raising its profile as of late, as the Pinstripes announcement comes on the heels of the recent news that a Whole Foods store will open there in 2012.
