Paired chef hosts "History of Cooking" dinner Feb. 9th

Chris Olson, of Paired fame, will be cooking an educational dinner "From Open Flames to Sous Vide: The History Of Cooking in Five Courses" on Tuesday, February 9th at the Bell Museum of Natural History, starting at 7 p.m. (doors at 6). Olson who's now cooking at Meritage (btw, How many '09 W-2s is this guy going to have? I'm glad I'm not doing his taxes...) will lead diners through the evolution of cooking techniques, from fire-roasting to molecular gastronomy. A U of M biological anthropologist, Greg Laden, will assist Olsen by discussing his research on diet and human evolution. It all sounds very cool--reminiscent of Policy and a Pint, in its mix of socializing and light education, but with food instead of beer. The event is co-sponsored by Heavy Table and costs $50. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 612-624-9050.
