Meal delivery non-profit Open Arms of Minnesota has some sweet new digs in South Minneapolis. The organization began providing service from the new base of operations at 25th and Bloomington this past weekend. It was formerly housed at 1414 East Franklin.
The move has been in the works for more than two years. In that time it managed to secure an impressive $8.1 million -- "from a $5 gift from the four-year-old daughter of a volunteer to a million dollar donation from longtime supporters" -- to fund construction of the new building.
Check out photos of the new building on the organization's blog.
Open Arms has been providing free food delivery services to people with serious and life-threatening diseases since 1986.
