Odell Brewing tasting dinner tonight at The Happy Gnome
Tonight, The Happy Gnome welcomes Doug Odell, from Odell Brewery in Fort Collins, Co., who will be on hand to answer questions, and try a choice new brew-- 420 IPA --made with the help of Minnesota distributors, and named for the 400 pounds of malt and 20 pounds of hops used to create it. The Gnome has also designed a 4 course tasting menu paired with Odell's tasty brews.
Tickets are not required and you can try the tasting menu anywhere in the restaurant--including the bar and patio. You can also stop by, meet Doug Odell and have a brew, but the tasting menu sounds divine--4 courses including beer pairings, as follows:
First: rosemary scented wild sea bass local corn and saffron bisque, stewed zucchini noodles, clams Saboteur Brett Barrel Brown
Second: mushroom crusted petit filet cauliflower-potato puree, pancetta, artichokes, spinach, orange whiskey demi glaze roasted baby beets, pickled apples, walnut oil St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale
Third: bucherone one time release 420 IPA
Dessert: dark chocolate dome curried butterscotch, sweet and salty cashews Bourbon Barrel Stout
Also at The Happy Gnome this week you can try Flat Earth's Xanadu. This is part of Flat Earth's Rush Week, with a new keg tapped at a different location nightly, as follows: Monday, Aug. 23: Xanadu (orange infused Cygnus) The Happy Gnome, Tuesday, Aug. 24: Big Money (aged oak Cygnus,) Bulldog Lowertown Wednesday, Aug. 25: Hold Your Fire (hot pepper infused Cygnus) The Muddy Pig Thursday, Aug. 26: Mystic Rhythms (raspberry infused Cygnus) - Groveland Tap Friday, Aug 27th: Grand Design (s'more infused Cygnus) - Stub & Herb's
